U.S. relations with Iran under Trump

The $6 billion was a drop in the bucket. What Iran has actually made under Biden

According to The Daily Signal’s calculations, Iran has received approximately $71.02 billion more under Biden than it would have under Trump.

• Iraq gets the majority of its electricity from Iran with the money in Iraqi banks out of reach of Iran. In July, under threats from Tehran to cut power, Sec. of State Blinkin signed a 120-day waiver so the funds could transfer.

• Biden campaigned on getting back into the sick joke called the Iran Deal. Before Biden even took office, China and other countries began importing oil from Iran.

Ben Taleblu and his colleague Saeed Ghasseminejad (a senior Iran and financial economics adviser) estimated that Iran has sold $95 billion worth of oil since Biden entered office.

• Iran has made an additional $3.8 billion from the sale of petrochemicals, products that come from petroleum, under Biden.

• Trump imposed sanctions on Iranian steel production. Under Biden, Iran was allowed to make an additional $1.6 billion.

The International Monetary Fund created special drawing rights to supplement the official reserves of member countries. Countries may use these rights to infuse cash into their economies.

• In August 2021, the IMF sent $3.42 billion to Iran in special drawing rights. According to the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, the Biden administration had the authority oppose this allocation and did not do so. U.S. law mandates that the IMF’s American executive director oppose allocating any funds to a state sponsor of terror.

• Other countries still owe Iran money from oil bought in 2018. One country, Japan, owes $3 billion which Iran had asked for back in August.

American military equipment has been spotted in Iran

US military equipment, including armoured vehicles worth hundreds of thousands of dollars each, have reportedly been spotted in Iran following the US withdrawal from Afghanistan, several social media accounts have reported.

According to the Russian outlet Sputnik's Persian language service, Iran allegedly bought armoured US-supplied ground vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and helicopters belonging to the Afghan army.

The Russian news outlet cited unnamed "news sources", and added that the equipment was purchased for a quarter of the amount they are worth and that Tehran was probably moving the equipment to research centres for reverse engineering.

We are left wondering if the Biden Administration has a plan to prevent the Taliban from using our weapons against the U.S. or its allies, or selling them to foreign adversaries, like China, Russia, Iran, or North Korea. - Representative James Comer (R-KY) and Representative Glenn Grothman (R-WI) wrote a letter to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin requesting information on the Pentagon's plans to recover American weapons left in Afghanistan in 2021.

Russian leader Vladimir Putin has his sights set on some of the $7.1 billion in American military weaponry and equipment abandoned by Joe Biden when he surrendered Afghanistan to the Taliban, a report said.

Taliban possess weapons and equipment that are scarce for the Russian army at the front, including those seized after coming to power in Afghanistan,” the post read.

America First Legal filed Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests with the State Department and Pentagon, seeking records relating to communications both Robert Malley and senior Pentagon official Ariane Tabatabai, identified in recent reports as a member of an Iranian-government influence operation, may have had with the Iranian regime.

The FOIA request could also shine light on a series of leaks from within the State Department that made their way into Iranian state-controlled media.
