I have traveled across the country and seen many splendid and awe-inspiring things. However, this is what I am blessed and thankful to see every day.
The attack on our American history and traditions is never-ending. However, this time I think I am left speechless. According to Biden, we do not celebrate the national holiday, Thanksgiving, which President Abraham Lincoln on Oct. 3, 1863, issued in a proclamation. Later signed into law as a federal holiday making the fourth Thursday of November Thanksgiving by President Franklin Roosevelt on Nov. 26, 1941, to give thanks to God, the maker and giver of all things. We are now supposed to celebrate "Friendsgiving", the Thanksgiving alternativeā?
Slap a new name onto to an existing tradition and watch it slowly transform into an ubiquitous trend. It also appears to be a way to enjoy an array of delicious food without experiencing pressure from relatives. No one wants to sit in a room filled with family members and have to explain why you're single or unmarried for the 100% time.
Don't get together with family you might disagree with politically, religiously, etc. Gather only with your friends who you agree with politically, religiously, etc. A new clever attempt to break up families. We BETTER nip this in the bud!
Yet, the administration published, āPresident Bidenās Top Accomplishments for when chatting with your Uncle at Thanksgiving,ā, ie., the one with more than three brain cells, about the vast accomplishments of the Biden Presidency, for brain dead leftists to take to a family gathering they do attend. Can't you just picture them reciting this nonsense from their phone at the table?
One fact I'm sure they won't tell you, is thanks to the "accomplishments" of the Biden administration, ONE IN FOUR AMERICANS were not able to afford Thanksgiving dinner this year!
Yesterday was and is Thanksgiving. I'm sure you heard the myths and falsehoods about Thanksgiving and probably not the truths thanks to the many attempts to pervert or erase American history because "historians" conveniently don't read or purposefully omit the whole accounts of American history:
Actually, the FIRST Thanksgiving in America was in St. Augustine, Florida on September 8, 1565, by Spanish Catholics during a Latin mass, to give thanks to God for all His blessings, of course.
The Governor of the Plymouth Colony, William Bradford, writes in his journal, Of Plymouth Plantation:
āBeing infected with ye scurvie and other diseases, which this long vioage & their inacomodate condition had brought upon them; so as ther dyed some times 2. or 3. of a day, in ye foresaid time; that of 100. & odd persons, scarce 50. remained.ā
The Pilgrims truly faced with life-or-death, yet even in the direst of circumstances, they never stopped thanking God for his mercy.
According to "Of Plymouth Plantation", the account of Pilgrim's experience in America, the only people at the "first Thanksgiving" were the Pilgrims, who gave thanks to God after their successful landing in the New World.
About 200 years before Karl Marx was born, the Pilgrims taught us communism does not work:
In 1620 Plymouth Plantation was founded with a system of communal property rights. Food and supplies were held in common and then distributed based on āequalityā and āneedā as determined by Plantation officials. People received the same rations whether or not they contributed to producing the food, and residents were forbidden from producing their own food. Governor William Bradford, in his 1647 history,Ā Of Plymouth Plantation, wrote that this system āwas found to breed much confusion and discontent and retard much employment that would have been to their benefit and comfort.ā The problem was that āyoung men, that were most able and fit for labour, did repine that they should spend their time and strength to work for other menās wives and children without any recompense.ā Because of the poor incentives, little food was produced.
Faced with potential starvation in the spring of 1623, the colony decided to implement a new economic system. Every family was assigned a private parcel of land. They could then keepĀ allĀ they grew for themselves, but now they alone were responsible for feeding themselves. While not a complete private property system, the move away from communal ownership had dramatic results.
This change, Bradford wrote, āhad very good success, for it made all hands very industrious, so as much more corn was planted than otherwise would have been.ā Giving people economic incentives changed their behavior. Once the new system of property rights was in place, āthe women now went willingly into the field, and took their little ones with them to set corn, which before would allege weakness and inability.ā
Other attacks on American history:
Columbus was demonized by Francisco de Bobadilla, the man who wanted Columbusā job as Governor of Hispaniola. He was a victim of envy and fictitious reports back to Spain which eventually got him imprisoned.
In 1500 the King and Queen of Spain sent Francisco de Bobadilla. to North America to investigate claims that Columbus wasnāt being fair to the European settlers (which means Columbus was protecting the Indians). He arrested Columbus and his brothers for Indian mistreatment and sent them back to Spain, sans a trial. Oh yeah, he appointed himself Governor.
The King and Queen called shenanigans and sent for de Bobadilla two years later, but he drowned on the trip home. Columbus was reinstated as Admiral. So what we know of Columbian malfeasance comes from a defrocked liar, de Bobadilla.
The demonizing of the Founders as only creating America to keep slaves as written in the 1619 Project, admitted by the author is fictitious.
The taking down of Confederate statues in an attempt to erase that the Democrat party was the party of slavery, and the Klu Klux Klan was the military branch of the Democrat party in the South after the Civil War.
All this is part of the plan detailed by former KGB political operative Yuri Bezemov when he defected. He spoke extensively and even wrote a short book titled, "Love Letter to America", to as he said, "get the potatoes out of our ears" and make Americans realize "you ARE in a war"! Part one of the plan was to demoralize America. With Marxist teachers and media teaching young people to hate their parents, their history and heritage. When you hate someone or something, you can't possibly feel thankful or have gratitude. You are only capable of feeling despair and anger. THAT is exactly what the destroyers of America want!
Letās talk about the principle of Thanksgiving, which is gratitude. A time honored and taught truth that to be grateful for the good things in your life is an acknowledgement of God's place in your very existence and lets you see in perspective how fortunate and blessed you really are in relation to other people's situations. A real example. You are upset because the barrista didn't make your coffee exactly right, yet there are actually people in the world who would be grateful for a drink of water today. Hopefully clean water!
Did you ever contemplate the miracle that you even exist? All the events that came together that you were even born. Don't you agree that you ought to feel grateful? There was a British comedy called " Monty Python's Flying Circus". It had some irreverent moments. It also had some insightful views. This was a skit about "the Universe Song". It is really worth watching:
The Founders knew very well the place of God in the founding of our country. From Benjamin Franklin at the Constitutional Convention in 1787:
In this situation of this Assembly, groping as it were in the dark to find political truth, and scarce able to distinguish it when presented to us, how has it happened, Sir, that we have not hitherto once thought of humbly applying to the Father of lights to illuminate our understandings? In the beginning of the Contest with G. Britain, when we were sensible of danger we had daily prayer in this room for the divine protection.- Our prayers, Sir, were heard, and they were graciously answered. All of us who were engaged in the struggle must have observed frequent instances of a superintending providence in our favor.
To that kind providence we owe this happy opportunity of consulting in peace on the means of establishing our future national felicity. And have we now forgotten that powerful friend? or do we imagine that we no longer need his assistance? I have lived, Sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth- that God Governs in the affairs of men. And if a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without his notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without his aid? We have been assured, Sir, in the sacred writings, that āexcept the Lord build the House they labour in vain that build it.ā I firmly believe this; and I also believe that without his concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better, than the Builders of Babel: We shall be divided by our little partial local interests; our projects will be confounded, and we ourselves shall become a reproach and bye word down to future ages. And what is worse, mankind may hereafter from this unfortunate instance, despair of establishing Governments by Human wisdom and leave it to chance, war and conquest.
I therefore beg leave to move that henceforth prayers imploring the assistance of Heaven, and its blessings on our deliberations, be held in this Assembly every morning before we proceed to business, and that one or more of the Clergy of this City be requested to officiate in that Service.
President George Washington, in gratitude for all the extraordinary and sometimes miraculous events that allowed America to come to be, established the first day of Thanksgiving:
Thanksgiving Proclamation
New York, 3 October 1789By the President of the United States of America. A Proclamation.
Whereas it is the duty of all Nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey his will, to be grateful for his benefits, and humbly to implore his protection and favorāand whereas both Houses of Congress have by their joint Committee requested me āto recommend to the People of the United StatesĀ a day ofĀ public thanksgiving and prayer to be observed by acknowledging with grateful hearts the many signal favors of Almighty GodĀ especially by affording them an opportunity peaceably to establish a form of government for their safety and happiness.ā
Now thereforeĀ I do recommend and assign Thursday the 26th day of November next to be devoted by the People of these States to the service of that great and glorious Being, who is the beneficent Author of all the good that was, that is, or that will beāThat we may then all unite in rendering unto him our sincere and humble thanksāfor his kind care and protection of the People of this Country previous to their becoming a Nationāfor the signal and manifold mercies, and the favorable interpositions of his Providence which we experienced in the course and conclusion of the late warāfor the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty, which we have since enjoyedāfor the peaceable and rational manner, in whichĀ we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness, and particularly the national One now lately institutedāfor the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed; and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge; and in general for all the great and various favors which he hath been pleased to confer upon us.
and alsoĀ that we may then unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech him to pardon our national and other transgressionsāto enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctuallyāto render our national government a blessing to all the people, by constantly being a Government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyedāto protect and guide all Sovereigns and Nations (especially such as have shewn kindness unto us) and to bless them with good government, peace, and concordāTo promote the knowledge and practice of true religion and virtue, and the encrease of science among them and usāand generally to grant unto all Mankind such a degree of temporal prosperity as he alone knows to be best.
Given under my hand at the City of New-York the third day of October in the year of our Lord 1789.
THAT is how to properly give thanksgiving to God for all His blessings!
The extreme left is always saying the right is dividing and polarizing America. What could be more polarizing than to say if your parents voted for Trump, you need to disown them and not invite them to your house for Thanksgiving or go to theirs? And of course, never let them see your children, their grandchildren again. Or, if your children or friends voted for Trump disown them or never speak to them again. Which of course would lead you to question the mental state of anyone who would even consider any of the above. Next was the covid plandemic, where for the first time in history, the WELL were quarantined just like the sick, which guaranteed the ensuing collapse of society. Family gatherings were forbidden! PERIOD! The second-year gatherings were magnanimously allowed if you "fulfilled all the criteria". AND brought your own utensils, dishes and things to eat!
Remember "the Resistance", because Trump was an illegitimate President, with ACTUAL violence in the streets? To even say you have questions about the anomalies and inconsistencies about the 2020 election gets you a visit from the FBI! To have appeared on the over 14,000 hours of still publicly unreleased video footage from the Capital on Jan. 6, 2021, peacefully protesting could have landed you in Washington DC prison now for 18+ months with conditions, (no access to legal counsel, rotten food, dirty water, no toilets, no medical treatment), to rival any Third World prison! Fun fact and question. With thousands of people in Washington and around the Capital that day, where were all the reporters that should have been thick as fleas?
At first, little by little. Now yard by yard. Our country is being destroyed right in front of us. Now even Thanksgiving isnāt safe.
Remember to be grateful for all you have. And remember by whose grace and generosity you have it.
Great article, thanks. Yes, the very high price of being āniceā. Very simply put - it leads directly to totalitarianism. In the heart of the Thirteen Colonies was the very crux of what leads to where we find ourselves. It was already skillfully implanted in the European Colonists. They had learned to prefer nice to mutual respect, compassion and intelligence.
Thanks for the great research. The attacks and nonsensecseem to exponentially get worse like the CNN article claiming daylight savings is a racist construct. https://www.cnn.com/2022/11/25/health/racial-inequities-sleep/index.html
