What Happens When A Statesman Confronts Sniveling Jackal Politicians?
Senator Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma putting hypocrite Democrat Senators in their place at Pete Hegseth's Department of Defense confirmation hearing.
Priceless. Doubt that you’ll see this on leftist media
Senator Mullin started his questioning of Pete Hegseth by asking an endorsement letter from 32 members of the House of Representatives who are Veterans be entered into the record. A link to the whole letter. Some excerpts:
As a decorated combat veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan campaigns, he offers an authentic understanding of modern warfare. His Harvard and Princeton credentials, combined with battlefield experience, forged a rare intellect aligned with President-elect Trump's strategic vision, to bridge the gap between the beltway and frontline realities…….
Despite relentless media attempts to undermine Mr. Hegseth's nomination, we call on the Senate to honor its constitutional duty of advice and consent by conducting a fair, thorough confirmation process that evaluates his nomination solely on its substantive merits.
Mullin then proceeded to eviscerate the hypocritical Democrat Senators and their attacks:
The first was Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI), who alluded Hegseth lacked CEO qualifications stating actually, the Senate acted as a “board of directors” for Presidential appointments.
There’s a lot of senators here I wouldn’t have on my board because there’s no qualifications except your age and you’ve got to be living in the state and you’re a citizen of the United States to be a senator.
I think it’s so hypocritical of senators, especially on the other side of the aisle, to be talking about his qualifications, not about to lead the secretary or be the secretary of defense. And yet your qualifications aren’t any better. You guys aren’t any more qualified to be the senator than I’m qualified to be the senator than I am to be a senator, except we’re lucky enough to be here. But let me read you what the qualifications of the secretary of defense is, because I googled it and went through a lot of different sites. And really, it’s hard to see. But in general, the U.S. secretary of defense’s position is filled by a civilian.
Mullin then made reference to questions from the Senator of Massachusetts, (Blumenthal), who actually lied about being a Viet Nam combat Vet to get elected:
about serving on a board while in the military industry, and yet your own Secretary, Austin, we had to vote on a waiver because he stepped off the board if Ratheon, but I guess that's okay, because that's a Democrat Secretary of Defense. We so quickly forget about that.
Mullin then referenced questions by Tim Kane (D-VA), and corrected himself by calling him “the Senator from Virginia”:
How many senators have showed up drunk to vote at night? Have any of you guys asked them to step down and resign from their job? And don’t tell me you haven’t seen it because I know you have. And then how many senators do you know have gotten a divorce for cheating on their wives? Did you ask them to step down? No, but it’s for show. You guys make sure you make a big show. You guys make it a big show to point out your hypocrisy because the man's made a mistake.
It is so ridiculous that you guys hold yourself as this higher standard. You forget you got a big plank in your eye.
Mullin went on:
We've all made mistakes. I've made mistakes. And Jennifer, (Hegseth's wife), thank you for loving him through that mistake. The only reason I'm here and not in prison is because my wife loved me too.
Mullin then continued, asking Hegseth why he loved his wife, prodded him to talk about his children, and asked questions pertinent to his appointment.
The difference between a politician and a statesman is that a politician thinks about the next election while the statesman think about the next generation. ―James Freeman Clarke
As a ground combat arms veteran I endorse Hegseth. The snakes in the grass woke marxist perfumed princes in the military and Secretary of defense and joint chiefs of staff in the last twenty or thirty years have been a disaster.
