Good for the homeowner, a 12 gauge does a lot of widespread damage. Be sure to keep extra shells nearby. Always teach kids Not to touch either. I grew up with hunting guns in the house. Different eras, different types of kids that today must touch everything. Hot stoves were the other NO touch item.
My Dad was a police officer and his gun and gunbelt was always over the bed post. We never even came close to it let alone touch it. The government wants you defenseless against them and the criminals they catch and release.

Same thing for my wife spent a lot of time at their family farm. A rifle was in the corner behind the door. YOU DO NOT TOUCH the rifle!
So did I, most of the men in the family hunted. My mom fished from the pond on their 5-acre farm. Bass, Cat, and Bluegill.
Aloha !
Think they'll try that again anytime soon?
They're welcome at my house.
Onward, Christian soldiers!
Yes.

"Fortunately, a non-injury shooting......"
That sounds like an abject failure to me. Practice more.
