The President's statement about needing F-15's might be intended for his base. A large group of the “elites” have abandoned America in search of greater wealth, sending jobs overseas, bringing in replacement workers from third world countries and creating financial disaster in the heartland. (They were shocked when Trump was elected, the only candidate willing to be on the side of the majority of Americans.) They may well be frightened of the great body of Americans so affected, and actually be fearful of the potential consequences. Telling them that there is nothing to worry about, the rubes don't have F-15s, is a way of showing that they will be protected from their action's consequences.
It's all about power, who has it and who doesn't. Nothing to do with safety.

We are leaving Washington State because of the toxic cocktail of anti-White racism in the name of "equity", the climate lunacy, and not least the unconstitutional actions against arms. I was born in Illinois in 1949, lived & worked there until 2014 when I finally 'escaped' to a more reasonable state nearby. Still, I remain reticent (that) the current state administration where I live is patterned after what I left behind.
But I can 'own' stuff here that I was denied owing in Illinois despite my being a life-long, tax-paying, law-abiding citizen. So I feel a greater sense of freedom now than before, while acknowledging too apparent efforts on so many fronts to restrict my freedom.
By the time the US Constitution was ratified in 1788, my ancestors had been here for nearly 5 generations or 120 years. They continued to advance as far westward as that moment in time would allow… defying a litany of events that could have easily negated my birth.
That founding document was written with such a strong, determined people in mind. A small, still homologous nation of Christians. It was never intended for such a travesty as we find ourselves in now.
yup, exactly! the constitution is like a solid jaw but without "teeth"--i.e. the Bill of Rights is our set of chompers--mess with us, we'll bite! (unlike poor george an' his wooden & hippo dentures!) disarmin' us (literally by takin' away the 2nd) leaves us all as defenseless as "Abominable" is "Rudolph" (when dentist-elf Hermie yanks out all his teeth!)
